Folks, these are indeed historical times in the mortgage industry.  In 1984, when I started originating residential mortgages, interest rates were 13.5% or higher!  For those of you young enough NOT to remember that…just be thankful!  I remember how I felt in 1986 when rates fell below 10%...and now seeing rates BELOW 4.0%...well absolutely, these are incredible times!

 My name is Michael Burge and I’m an expert Mortgage Banker.  In 2011, I saved my customers an average of $656 per month on the purchase or refinance of their home! (Yes, I can document that!)  I was also recognized as a leader in the St. Louis Mortgage Industry, being voted by my clients, customers, and peers, as a “Five Star Mortgage Professional” (St. Louis Magazine, April 2012).

My professional philosophy is that if you are going to trust me to finance the biggest investment of your life, then I have a professional responsibility to help you manage that debt to increase your cash flow, minimize your tax liability, and integrate your mortgage into your overall long and short term financial goals, as well as your payment and equity objectives.  This isn’t “your Daddy’s mortgage” anymore.  How you finance your home may well dictate how, when, and even if you retire! 

Over the last 28 years, I’ve served well over a thousand families and financed hundreds of millions of dollars in residential mortgages.  In 1992, I founded and served as the First President of the Missouri Association of Mortgage Professionals.  I’ve been a Mortgage Broker, a Mortgage Banker, I’ve worked for a bank (yuck!) and I’ve even processed and underwritten mortgage loans.  But most importantly, I’ve helped families finance their homes…THAT’S what it’s all about and THAT is why I LOVE MY JOB!
