After graduating with a B.A. degree from Benedictine College, Joe Bayer started his career in real estate in 1971.  This phase of Joe’s business life lasted 10 years, it was during this time he managed 2 offices for Gundaker Real Estate Company.  In 1983, Gundaker asked Joe to open Residential Financial Services Inc., a mortgage company of the Gundaker Company.  As President of that firm, Joe grew the company into the largest purchase mortgage company in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.  He served in that role until 1993.

Joe then decided to venture out on his own and start First Integrity Mortgage Services, Inc.  First Integrity was designed to be a unique, independent mortgage firm, whose growth was dependent upon performance and client referrals from satisfied customers.  His vision was to structure the company in such a way that a client’s file would be assigned to one person with the knowledge, responsibility and authority to be an advocate of the customer.  This new system changed the quality of the mortgage experience for both consumers and employees.  It worked!  As Joe Bayer says, “our closings are a celebration, not a formality.”

Joe and his wife Stavra have one son, Joseph Bayer, Jr. who also works for the firm. Joe and Stavra value family first and foremost; this is evident in their own family, but also in the family they have created with their employees and clients at First Integrity.
